"Baker Beach is part of the Presidio, a military base on the northern tip of San Francisco that has been under the control of Spanish, Mexican, and American forces throughout its history. With its wide views of the Pacific Ocean and its enviable location at the mouth of the Golden Gate, it made for a perfect defensive position. In 1904, the U.S. Army installed an enormous 50-ton "disappearing" gun to protect the city and the coastline. SFTRAVEL.COM Best Locations Bay Area Photo event photography

"Adolph Sutro, the self-made millionaire who designed Sutro Heights and later the second Cliff House, developed the amazing Sutro Baths in 1894. With his special interest in natural history and marine studies, he constructed an ocean pool aquarium among the rocks north of the Cliff House. Sutro then expanded his ocean front complex by constructing a massive public bathhouse that covered three acres and boasted impressive engineering and artistic details." NPS.GOV

It’s one of San Francisco’s most popular spots for wedding photos and has appeared in countless fashion layouts and Instagram shots. The Romanesque structure was designed by architect Bernard R. "The Presidio has a rich history spanning back to the time of the native Ohlone people. The Spanish arrived in 1776 to establish the northernmost outpost of their empire in western North America. The Presidio fell under Mexican rule for 24 years before the U.S. Army took control in 1846. Over 148 years, the U.S. Army transformed the Presidio grounds from mostly windswept dunes and scrub to a verdant, preeminent military post." NPS.GOV

Prior to every photo session, clients consistently ask the same question:
"do you have any recommendations on the best location for our photos?"
The answer is yes but I always ask for input on the desired look and feel that my clients wish to create. Location is critical and advance scouting pays dividends, see below:
"My son, Hunter and I, recently had a photo shoot with Chris. We had a fantastic experience! My son is 17, so when I told him the two of us (and our dog were going to have a professional photo session) he was less than thrilled. Chris put us both at ease very quickly and my son actually ended up suggesting some great back drops during the session. Chris took the time to scout the best location for us, which ended up being at the Ronin Sculpture Garden at the Stanford Campus. My son and I would highly recommend Chris' services for your photography needs:)" Jennifer
