Expansive waterfront views, sandy beaches, sailboats, and one of San Francisco's most iconic settings for unforgettable photographs.
Where the Golden Gate Bridge Becomes Your Backdrop
Crissy Field
Crissy Field is one of San Francisco's most versatile photography locations. With sweeping views of the Golden Gate Bridge, a beautiful shoreline, open green spaces, and the Marina just steps away, it offers an incredible variety of scenery without requiring much walking.
Whether you're celebrating an engagement, updating professional headshots, planning a family session, or simply exploring San Francisco, Crissy Field provides a relaxed setting with some of the city's most recognizable views.
Why Choose Crissy Field?
A Photographer's Perspective
Crissy Field has a way of bringing together everything that makes San Francisco unforgettable. The Golden Gate Bridge stretches across the horizon, sailboats drift across the Bay, and the shoreline offers endless opportunities for natural, relaxed photographs. Every few hundred feet reveals a different backdrop, giving each session a unique look without ever feeling rushed.
Whether we're strolling along the beach, photographing beneath towering cypress trees, or taking in the sweeping waterfront views, Crissy Field offers an incredible variety of scenery in one easy-to-explore location. It's one of those places that never feels the same twice—and that's exactly why I love photographing here.
What Makes Crissy Field Special?
Few places bring you this close to San Francisco's most iconic landmark.
Bridge. Beach. Bay
From the beach to the bridge, Crissy Field offers an incredible variety of scenery without ever feeling rushed.
One Location. Endless Variety.
For the best experience, I recommend a morning session. The Golden Gate Bridge is beautifully illuminated, the colors are vibrant, and the waterfront is peaceful before the city comes alive.
Morning Light
Endless Possibilities
Crissy Field is one of the most flexible locations in San Francisco, but the experience changes dramatically throughout the day.
Morning sessions offer soft, even light and a quieter atmosphere. If you enjoy peaceful walks along the waterfront or prefer fewer visitors in the background, morning is a wonderful choice.
Late afternoon brings warmer light and some of the most beautiful sunsets in the city. As the sun drops toward the Pacific, the Golden Gate Bridge glows with rich color, creating a dramatic backdrop for your photographs.
Unlike some San Francisco locations, Crissy Field photographs beautifully throughout the day. The best time ultimately depends on the look you're hoping to achieve.
A little planning goes a long way toward creating a relaxed, enjoyable experience.
Parking
Free parking is usually available along Mason Street and nearby lots. I recommend arriving 10–15 minutes early, especially on weekends and holidays.
What to Wear
Neutral colors, soft earth tones, and blues photograph beautifully against the beach, bay, and Golden Gate Bridge. Comfortable shoes are always a good idea.
Morning Sessions
For the best light and the fewest visitors, I recommend scheduling your session in the morning whenever possible.
Dogs Welcome
Crissy Field is one of San Francisco's most dog-friendly locations, making it a great choice if your four-legged family member is joining us.
Weather
Layers are your friend. Even on warm days, the breeze coming off the Bay can make it feel much cooler.
